What is ShopMagic

What is ShopMagic#

ShopMagic is a free marketing automation and follow-up emails plugin for WooCommerce that helps you grow your business with automated marketing by increasing conversions and retaining customers. Imagine a SaaS-based marketing automation software such as HubSpot, Mailchimp, ActiveCampaign, or GetResponse, but built as an extension for WooCommerce stores.

Because ShopMagic is a free WooCommerce extension, you own and have total control over your customers’ and store’s data – forever. ShopMagic is designed as a core plugin with multiple add-ons. Some of them are available for free, while some are part of ShopMagic PRO.

The add-ons that we developed are not the only ones that you can use. ShopMagic is easily customizable, and can and can be expanded with your add-ons to meet all your needs. If you are interested in creating custom modifications, take a look at Developer Docs.

Automation components#

An automation consists of three components:

  • Event — determines when the automation starts, for example, when an order is created, an order status changes, or a customer account is created.
  • Filter (optional) — limits execution to cases that meet specified conditions, for example, orders containing a selected product.
  • Action — determines what happens, for example, sending an email or adding a customer to a marketing list.

One automation can contain multiple actions. Available events, filters, and actions depend on the installed plugins and add-ons.

Email personalization#

Placeholders insert dynamic data, such as customer and order details, into email content. Available placeholders depend on the selected event and installed add-ons.

Managing automations#

Go to ShopMagic → Automations in the WordPress admin panel to create and manage automations.

For configuration instructions, see How to add first automation.

Add-on requirements#

Some features require a separate add-on. These include delayed actions, personalized coupons, and abandoned cart recovery. Installing the core plugin does not enable these features.

Data and email sending#

ShopMagic runs within your WordPress + WooCommerce installation. Automation configuration and execution records are stored in your website’s database.

Emails use the WordPress mail mechanism. Configured integrations can send customer and store data to external services.
