ShopMagic 2.3 is here: Thank your customers for product reviews

It’s New Release Wednesday! Today we released a new version of ShopMagic and most importantly a new version of the Review Requests add-on. With this release you are able to thank your customers for product reviews and notify your staff about new reviews.

ShopMagic 2.3 is a minor release that comes with little changes to the core plugin itself. However it opens new possibilities for our brand new version of the Review Requests add-on.

New event: Review Published

With the addition of the Review Published event, you are able to send an email to your customers thanking them for the review. Alternatively you can also send an email (or Slack notification) to yourself or your employees.

ShopMagic: Review Published

This event is triggered when a new WooCommerce product review is published. If a customer leaves multiple reviews on the same product the automation will run every time.

New placeholders: all about products and reviews

In this release apart from adding the new event, we’ve also added a bunch of new placeholders:

  • {{ product.id }} – displays the ID of the reviewed product
  • {{ product.name }} – displays the name of the reviewed product
  • {{ product.link }} – displays the link of the reviewed product
  • {{ product.meta }} – displays the custom field of the reviewed product
  • {{ review.content }} – displays the content of the review
  • {{ review.rating }} – displays the rating of the review

The most exciting things will come real soon!

We are excited about the new event and placeholders, however the most important feature is in the works right now and it plays cool with the Review Published event.

We are sending review requests to our customers, however we’ve seen that usually they need an incentive to write a review. That’s why we are offering a discount coupon for every review.

Next week we are going to release a new add-on Customer Coupons. Then you will be able to:

  1. Send a review request email to your customers, i.e. 2 weeks after their purchase.
  2. When the customer posts a review, he will automagically get a personalized and unique coupon for his next purchase.
