ShopMagic 2.26 is here. Let the cross-sell begin!

Only four weeks have passed since ShopMagic 2.25 release, and we are back with new and shiny ShopMagic 2.26. What’s inside? Cross-sell support, Queue and Cart logs clearing, review request as well as abandoned carts improvements. Let’s take a brief look at it.

Cross-sell support

Adding a cross-sell functionality was on our road map for a long time. Too long to be completely honest. What’s more, support for cross-sell products was mentioned in many of your e-mails.

Well, the wait is over.

ShopMagic officially supports products marked as cross-sells 🎉

Before I’ll explain how it works, let me emphasize one thing, {{ order.cross_sells }} placeholder is available for everyone as it joins ShopMagic free.

How does cross-sell work in ShopMagic?

ShopMagic uses built-in WooCommerce cross-sell functionality. If you want to use it, you have to mark a specified product as cross-sells. Here’s an official guide which should shed some light on how to do it.

Now, all you have to do is to add {{ order.cross_sells }} placeholder to your automation.

Shopmagic Automation With Cross Sell

If it will be triggered (customer buys the applicable product), then ShopMagic will assign a specified product (or products) in place of {{ order.cross_sells }}.

Your cross-sell products can be listed in multiple ways, as a bulleted, comma separated lists or grid template.

Finally, if you are ShopMagic PRO user, we created a new recipe, which not only uses cross-sell feature but also a filter for the customer’s first order. In other words, it’s a recipe for welcome e-mail with cross-sells. Fell free to use it or modify to your needs.

What about related products?

ShopMagic 2.26 also adds {{ order.related_products }} placeholder, which works similarly to cross-sell, however instead of using a linked products tab, {{ order.related_products }} will display products which share the same category.

Clearing Outcomes and Carts

Another great addition to our plugin. When you update ShopMagic to the 2.26 version, you will be able to delete selected or all of the entries in Outcomes and Carts tabs. No more complicated database tables editing. Here’s how it looks:

Send Review Requests to registered and guest users

From now on, so you will be able to send even more review requests to your customers. We extended functionality of this add-on to let you target registered and guest users.

So, don’t limit yourself and start to send as much review requests as possible because reviews have the power to influence consumer decisions and can strengthen a company’s credibility. Not to mention that ShopMagic is not limiting you in number of emails sent.

Abandoned Carts improvements

ShopMagic 2.26 version release has a corresponding update of ShopMagic Abandoned Carts add-on. When you update abandoned carts add-on to 1.3.0 you will start to see that some carts receive new status – recovered.

When you see carts with recovered status, you can be 100% sure that such a cart was recovered by your automation.

On the other hand, some carts will receive the ordered status, which is assigned if cart is ordered in the same browser session.

Thanks to this, you will have better overall view on conversions and recovered revenue.
