This time we decided to take some time for cooling off and instead of focusing on big features like abandoned carts, we improved some of the little things. They may seem not so important, but they really improve the overall experience with ShopMagic.
Newsletters and subscription announcements
The biggest release this week is focused on our Manual Actions add-on, which is one of my personal favorites.
With the initial release you were able to send manual emails to orders, now you can also target customers:
With this trigger you are able to send your monthly newsletters right from your WordPress admin.
You can also trigger subscriptions:
In the above example you can see a little teaser about what’s coming next to ShopMagic 😉
The Subscription Manual Trigger gives you the ability to target specific subscriptions with filters (i.e. total, purchased products, categories, dates, payment gateways and even more) and then send emails or perform some more actions on the selected subscriptions.
Subscription based actions
We also added some small but sometimes really handy actions for subscriptions:
- Change status
- Change dates
- Change subscription to manual renewal
Change subscription next payment date:
Outcome logs
Now coming back to the free core ShopMagic plugin. We added logs to outcomes. Now if there is an error with performing the action, you will be able to see a detailed information what went wrong:
As you can see there is also a detailed stack trace which will help your developers (our ours if you ask for support) to find the cause and hopefully fix it.
Order Notes
We also added a full support for WooCommerce order notes. This includes:
- Order Note Added event fired whenever a new note is added to the order.
- Order Note Type and Content filters to select customer/private notes or target only notes with specific text.
- Order Note Content and Author placeholders which you can use to send emails or post notifications to Slack.
Custom formatting in date placeholders
Now you can also choose your own formatting of the date placeholders:
What’s next?
We are working on WooCommerce Memberships integration and recovering abandoned carts in WooCommerce. Stay tuned!
