ShopMagic 2.11 is here: Testing emails before sending to customers

Maciej Swoboda

Wow, we’ve just entered into a release streak 🙂 This is our 4th feature release in 4 weeks. This time we bring you a feature without which many of you couldn’t imagine using ShopMagic. Now when you set up your automation, you can send a test email to your inbox to see how it would look like when the customer gets it.

This time let’s start with a screenshot:

ShopMagic Send Test Email

Sending test emails comes to ShopMagic

A picture is worth a thousand words!

I think it says it all. When you set up your automation and you choose one of our send email actions you will notice a small Send test link:

ShopMagic Send Test Email Link

When you click this link, you will see a modal dialog with you profile email. Just hit send and check your inbox. You will find a test email there.

Of course you can change the email and send it to another address.

When the test email is sent, ShopMagic looks for the most recent order and automatically replaces placeholders with order/customer data from this order. So every time you send test, you will receive the data from the newest order in your WooCommerce store.

This also means that you need at least 1 order in the store to send test emails. You will get an error messages when you try to send a test email in new store with no orders.

Slack integration

Today we are also releasing a new version of our Slack add-on for WooCommerce. While there are no big new features, we made some tweaks under the hood to make the integration more reliable. We also added support for out queue and outcomes (logs) introduced in ShopMagic 2.9.

What’s next?

We have a few new things in the pipeline, but they will need more time to develop. We are working on several things at this time:

  • Guests – ability to manage guests who do not set up an account in the store. This will give us ability to develop new features like carts.
  • Carts – ability to track carts (including abandoned carts!) and perform certain actions, i.e. recovering them.
  • Recovering carts – ability to recover abandoned WooCommerce carts. One of the features that is so obvious for marketing automation, will come to ShopMagic hopefully in a couple of weeks.

Keep your fingers crossed and check our blog to be the first one to know when we release these features!
