It’s quite unexpected release, because it wasn’t planned 😉 However we got a request from one of our customers about WooCommerce Memberships integration and we decided to grab this opportunity and create a new integration for ShopMagic – WooCommerce Memberships. Because we released WooCommerce Subscriptions integration 2 weeks ago we had all we needed to quickly develop and release a new integration with similar features.
What’s possible?
The WooCommerce Memberships integration is quite similar to the Subscriptions integration. It allows you to create automations based on membership events.
For example you can send an email to your customer (yourself or employee) when new membership is created, deleted or the status gets changed.
Probably the most important feature if the ability to send reminders before the membership expires. For example you can send an email 5 days (or 10, or any number you want) prior to the expiry date. This is a great way to remind your customers about expiry and convince them to extend their membership.
You will find the complete list of events on the WooCommerce Memberships add-on page →
Segmentation
There are also some useful filters that you can use to segment the memberships. For example by dates, plan, status or custom field.
Dynamic content with merge tags
There are also a bunch of merge tags which are called placeholders in ShopMagic to let you display dynamic content in the message.
For example if you write:
Your membership plan is {{ membership.plan_name }} and it will expire {{ membership.expires_date }}. Here is your renewal link: {{ membership.renewal_url }}.
Your customer will get:
Your membership plan is VIP Membership and it will expire 2020-10-21. Here is your renewal link: https://shopmagic.app/renew/membership/123/.
What else in this release?
Today we are also releasing some new additions to other ShopMagic products.
The core free version gets:
- Support for the WooCommerce Memberships add-on.
- New filter: customer ID.
- New placeholder: customer username.
- Some minor bug fixes.
The WooCommerce Subscriptions add-on gets some new actions:
- Subscription Change Date
- Subscription Change Status
- Subscription Change to Manual
And the Manual Actions add-on gets:
- WooCommerce Membership Manual Trigger
With the new manual trigger for memberships you can send emails to your members whenever you like just with a click of a button!
What’s next?
We are still working on our major release of Abandoned Carts add-on. It will probably be our last major release this year and it should be ready in November. Stay tuned!
